What We Provide

The Gables Wedding Barn venue rental includes your chairs, tables (for both indoor and outdoor spaces), speakers, mic system, projector and screen. Use of the commercial kitchen and Bridal lounge as well as patio heaters upon request.

The Gables Wedding Barn is committed to excellence both as a stunning venue space and with the services we provide. The Gables Wedding Barn is four season, fully heated and air conditioned venue nestled in the farmsteads of the Pembina Valley on 8.5 acres. The Gables Wedding Barn is fully accessible with indoor washroom facilities, kitchen and wet bar with a seating capacity for 200 people.

Every wedding and special event hosted at The Gables Wedding Barn gets the royal treatment when it comes to the vendors we work with. Whatever the unique needs and particular preferences our clients may have, Catering is always a vendor we trust to offer affordable and accommodating prices for their quality services. Contact Chef Jeremie Verrier at Jer's Cuisine in Morden, MB to provide you with amazing service for your special day or rehersal dinner.

BARTENDING

At  Your Service

The Gables Wedding Barn would like your day and planning to go as smoothly as possible. We have professional and affordable bar-tending services. We secure the bartender for $200 per bartender (or $22/ hr and a specified start and end time) Operating from 4:30-1:00 a.m. close. Two Bartenders recommended for weddings of 100-200 people. The liquor permit and purchasing of alcohol will fall under the responsibility of the permit holder (Bride & Groom).

Whatever the unique needs and particular preferences our clients may have, we offer a coffee and water self-serve beverage bar. Our self-serve coffee bar includes (paper cup, cream, dairy free creamers (if required), natural sugar and sugar-free sweetener, clear recyclable cups for refillable water station incl. lemons or limes $1/guest)

Your Special Event Experts: Brad & Ashley Wiebe

As children we live to role play the things we love. While friends were modelling Doctors, Teachers or "playing house", I was the young girl that "played wedding". It was something I dreamed of and planned until my own wedding day would arrive. I have been blessed with many opportunities to plan and be involved with various weddings throughout my adult life and I believe that for myself these were God given opportunities to practise my gift. My husband of 12 years has selflessly come alongside my passion and works hard to see this given dream come to fruition. We are family run and look forward to hosting your dream wedding.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF GUESTS YOUR VENUE CAN HOST?

Our maximum seated capacity is 200 people.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR WEDDING VENUE RENTAL?

Wood farm harvest tables, wood cross-back chairs for indoor use only. White folding resin chairs for outside ceremonies. Speakers, mics, sound board, projector (for slideshow). Fridges, freezer, full commercial kitchen, indoor bathrooms (FULLY ACCESSIBLE).
Use of covered 1,700 square foot porch for rain option ceremony space. 
Outdoor patio and fire-bowl heaters.
Fully climatized barn (A/C).

CAN WE HIRE OTHER VENDORS, OR DO WE HAVE TO USE ONLY THE ONES ON YOUR WEBSITE?

These are our "preferred" list of vendors. They know our venue and have worked here for other events and will ensure a smooth day for you; However, you are welcome to hire other vendors of choice.

Please Note: The Gables does offer bartending services; However if you wish to hire your own vendors, only professional bar tending vendors may be allowed to operate in the venue (friends with serve it safe certification are not permitted). 

You may hire other vendor catering services (must hold a valid catering permit if operating under professional caterer). If not a professional caterer then a MINIMUM of Food Handler Certification is required and valid outside Winnipeg (food must still be prepared in a commercial kitchen). Potlucks are not permitted at this location Thank you.

IS SOUND PROVIDED FOR THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION?

The speakers, Mic and sound will be ready to go but you will need to assign your own sound person.

WHAT KIND OF TABLES DO YOU HAVE?

We have 8ft wooden rectangular harvest tables for 200 guests. They can seat 6-8 people.

If you are having our maximum of  200 guests and want buffet dinner service we use folding tables for the buffet ( you will need to rent linens, see vendors above, for 6-8ft size tables determined by  your caterer).  

If  you are UNDER 200 guests there are some harvest tables for buffet use (do not require linens).

Please Note:  We also use the folding tables for the head table (they will require linen rental also).  Max head table guests are 12.

*12 People at the head table we use (2-8ft tables and 1-6ft)

*10 People at the head table we use (2-6ft and 1-8ft table). 

WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT PLAN?

A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $1000 to secure the date along with a signed contracted upon booking. 50% of total rental cost due 60 days prior to wedding date, and the remaining 50% due 30 days prior to the wedding date and applicable taxes.

HOW DOES THE PERMIT BAR WORK?

All clients are required to get their own permit for their wedding bar service through lgcamb.ca. All alcohol can be delivered at the rehearsal time (to allow for fridge preparation) and is the responsibility of client.  Currently there is no corkage fee (2021 & 2022); However, it is the clients responsibility to ensure their bar has appropriate cups, mix, ice and garnishes for desired beverages. 
Bartenders are $200 each (or $22/hr) (4:30 p.m. to bar close at 1:00 a.m.) and 2 bartenders will be utilized for weddings of 100+ guests.

HOW LONG DO WE HAVE THE VENUE RENTAL FOR?

You  may schedule rehearsal & decorating as early as Friday (After 1 p.m. ONLY) and by Saturday at 2 a.m. property needs to be mainly cleaned  up with pick up of remaining items by 11 a.m. Sunday. For 2021 ONLY.

For 2022 we will be accepting bookings for Saturday and (Sunday of Long Weekends).

*If no event is scheduled preceding your day then you may access the barn after 1 p.m. the day before your event.

*If an event is scheduled prior to your day then you may access the barn no earlier than 8:30 a.m.

*If an event is scheduled after your wedding day then property must be cleared of all belongings by 2 a.m.

*IF NO EVENT scheduled after your wedding day you have until 11 a.m. the following day to remove all items from property.

DO WE HAVE TO HAVE A DJ?

You can gladly run a play list through an iPhone, android or laptop. Ensure you have a responsible person to run this for you if you are NOT hiring a DJ.

DOES THE VENUE PROVIDE ALL THE EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR A SLIDESHOW?

Unfortunately, no. You will need your own lap top or device to run the slideshow through our projector system (HDMI hookup required) and for sound to be fed through your device to venue speakers.

CAN I CHOOSE TO HAVE OUR CEREMONY ELSEWHERE ON THE PROPERTY?

Unfortunately, no.  We  have a designated ceremony space for outdoors and a covered porch for a rain option if the whether is threatening (high winds or rain). These designated areas are to ensure you have the best sound available (close to the barn) and are situated in such a way to provide protection from elements and ensure guest accessibility and safety...And not to mention best angles and background for your photographer!

IS THERE A TAXI SERVICE TO PROVIDE FOR OUR GUESTS?

Yes! You may hire a taxi service from either Emerson Taxi (204)612-3849 or arrange for limo service near Winkler at White Castle Limousine Service (204) 362-2209.

ARE THERE ANY HOTELS OR AIRBNBS NEAR BY?

Yes! We are a 9 minute drive from the Altona Hotel. The Red Granary Airbnb (see facebook for booking), Herdsman House  Airbnb in Neubergthal (5 minutes) The Morning Dove B&B in Neubergthal (5 minutes) There many new hotels 25 minutes away in Winkler.

WHAT AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR IN TERMS OF DECORATING/SET-UP AND DAY OF DUTIES?

The Gables Wedding Barn is responsible for providing a clean venue for rental, initial set up of inside chairs, tables and outdoor ceremony chairs/sound and bar service only.  The Gables Wedding Barn is unfortunately not your day-of wedding coordinator or mover for furniture changes between ceremonies and reception & dances.

Clients need to assign people for setting up and taking down any decorations, coordination of wedding timeline, communicating with caterers/other vendors the day of to ensure meal is delivered on time, hiring of tableware rental set up and take down.


***Assigning a responsible sound person for both ceremony and reception.

IS THERE A PLACE FOR US TO GET READY ONSITE?

We currently have ONE bridal lounge inside the barn to get ready in the day of. The bridal lounge has two mirrors, lots of natural light, and couches for relaxing and enjoying your breakfast or mimosas! Ample hook ups for hairstylist.

ARE THERE ANY ONSITE DÉCOR AVAILABLE FOR USE AT THE GABLES WEDDING BARN?

Absolutely! We have partnered with Adam & Eve Designs and for a fee can rent out signs, wood slabs, table numbers, vases, guest seating charts/frames and cake stands upon request. adam&eveweddings&designs (facebook)

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Forfeit of the deposit. Due to significant monetary losses, as per contract, clients canceling weddings 91 days prior to event date will owe 50% of total venue rental; cancellation within 31 days-90 days prior 75% of total venue rental will be owed and cancellation 30 days prior to the event 100% of venue rental costs will be owed.
If a wedding is to be POSTONED and not cancelled, then we will re-sign the contract with a new date to avoid any payments owed for monetary losses (as stated above) for 2021 ONLY.
