WHAT IS THE MINIMUM/MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF GUESTS YOUR VENUE CAN HOST?

Our maximum seated capacity is 180 people. Ideal range is 100-150.

We require a minimum guest booking of 100 people for weddings

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR WEDDING VENUE RENTAL?

Wood farm harvest tables, wood cross-back chairs for indoor use only. White folding resin chairs for outside ceremonies. Speakers, mics, sound board, projector (for slideshow). Fridges, freezer, full commercial kitchen, indoor bathrooms (FULLY ACCESSIBLE). White chiffon in barn (already hung), greenery (already hung), porch ambient lighting, 2 firebowls and 3 propane heaters.Use of covered 1,700 square foot porch for rain option ceremony space. Bridal getting ready suite in fully climatized barn.

CAN WE HIRE OTHER VENDORS, OR DO WE HAVE TO USE ONLY THE ONES ON YOUR WEBSITE?

These are our "preferred" list of vendors. They know our venue and have worked here for other events and will ensure a smooth day for you; However, you are welcome to hire other vendors of choice.

Please Note: Only Gables staff are permitted to bartend in the barn.

You may hire other vendor catering services (must hold a valid catering permit if operating under professional caterer). If not a professional caterer then a MINIMUM of Food Handler Certification is required and valid outside Winnipeg (food must still be prepared in a commercial kitchen). Potlucks are not permitted at this location Thank you.

IS SOUND PROVIDED FOR THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION?

The speakers, Mic and sound will be ready to go but you will need to assign your own capable sound person 18+ years only.

WHAT KIND OF TABLES DO YOU HAVE?

We have 8ft wooden rectangular harvest tables for 180 guests. They can seat 6-8 people (8 People required for larger weddings).

WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT PLAN?

A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $1000 to secure the date along with a signed contract upon booking. 50% of total rental cost due 60 days prior to wedding date, and the remaining 50% due 30 days prior to the wedding date and applicable taxes.

HOW DOES THE PERMIT BAR WORK?

All clients are required to get their own permit for their wedding bar service through lgcamb.ca. All alcohol can be delivered at the rehearsal time (to allow for fridge preparation) and is the responsibility of client.  Currently there is no corkage fee; However, it is the clients responsibility to ensure their bar has appropriate cups, mix, ice and garnishes for desired beverages (Unless you booked The GRANDE). Bartender start time is 4:30 p.m. to bar close at 12:00 a.  Last call for bar service is 11:30 p.m. Bar closes at 12:00 a.m.

HOW LONG DO WE HAVE THE VENUE RENTAL FOR?

You  may schedule rehearsal & decorating as early as Friday (After 4 p.m. ONLY until no later than 8 p.m. NEW) and by 9:00 a.m. Saturday until 12:30 a.m. property needs to be cleaned  up same day by 12:30 a.m. NEW separate bridal suite access for those booking LUXE or GRANDE packages ONLY.

*If no event is scheduled preceding your day then you may access the barn after 4 p.m. the day before your event in the LUXE or GRANDE packages ONLY. Thank you.

DO WE HAVE TO HAVE A DJ?

You can gladly run a play list through an iPhone, android or laptop. MUST have your own adaptors/chargers/cables for your devices.

Ensure you have a responsible person to run this for you if you are NOT hiring a DJ.

DOES THE VENUE PROVIDE ALL THE EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR A SLIDESHOW?

Unfortunately, no. You will need your own lap top or device to run the slideshow through our projector system (HDMI hookup required) and for sound to be fed through your device to venue speakers.

CAN I CHOOSE TO HAVE OUR CEREMONY ELSEWHERE ON THE PROPERTY?

We  have a designated ceremony space for outdoors and a covered porch for a rain option if the whether is threatening (high winds or rain). These designated areas are to ensure you have the best sound available (close to the barn) and are situated in such a way to provide protection from elements and ensure guest accessibility and safety...And not to mention best angles and background for your photographer!

During Spring and Fall we can accommodate your wedding in front of the wedding barn as well or inside the main barn.

IS THERE A TAXI SERVICE TO PROVIDE FOR OUR GUESTS?

Yes! You may hire a taxi service from either Emerson Taxi (204)612-3849 or arrange for limo service near Winkler at White Castle Limousine Service (204) 362-2209.

ARE THERE ANY HOTELS OR AIRBNBS NEAR BY?

Yes! We are a 9 minute drive from the Altona Hotel. The Red Granary Airbnb (see facebook for booking), Herdsman House  Airbnb in Neubergthal (5 minutes) The Morning Dove B&B in Neubergthal (5 minutes) The new Best Western Plus hotel is  25 minutes away in Winkler.

WHAT AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR IN TERMS OF DECORATING/SET-UP AND DAY OF DUTIES?

The Gables Wedding Barn is responsible for providing a clean venue for rental, initial set up of inside chairs, tables and outdoor ceremony chairs/sound and bar service.We are present for you entire event to ensure NOTHING goes wrong.

Clients need to assign people for setting up and taking down any decorations, coordination of wedding timeline, communicating with caterers/other vendors the day of to ensure meal is delivered on time, hiring of tableware rental set up and take down. 2025 LUXE/ GRANDE package will offer you more service and ease for the day of your wedding.

IS THERE A PLACE FOR US TO GET READY ONSITE?

We are under renovations and a new separate bridal getting ready suite will be OPEN 2025 for LUXE & GRANDE clients ONLY. Those booking Saturday only access will continue to use the main barn lounge.

ARE THERE ANY ONSITE DÉCOR AVAILABLE FOR USE AT THE GABLES WEDDING BARN?

From linens, dishes, candles/holders and table runners we can help you! LUXE & GRANDE package pricing include these items.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Forfeit of the deposit. Due to significant monetary losses, as per contract, clients canceling weddings 91 days prior to event date will owe 50% of total venue rental; cancellation within 31 days-90 days prior 75% of total venue rental will be owed and cancellation 30 days prior to the event 100% of venue rental costs will be owed.
If a wedding is to be POSTONED and not cancelled, then we will re-sign the contract with a new date to avoid any payments owed for monetary losses (as stated above) for 2021 ONLY.
